FREE Tracking Devices for Kids on the Autism Spectrum

‘Wandering’ is a big problem for many parents with children on the autism spectrum. The Federal Government has recognized what a serious problem this is and has offered to help by providing free tracking devices. Here is some information on how to get one of the devices.

Adaptive Newsletter CSThe first step is to schedule a visit so we can assess whether we are the right program for your child/teen/young adult – can we keep them safe? Unlike some other programs, we do not have ‘side walkers’ and ‘horse handlers’. Our clients, unless they come to our program with an aide of their own, will be working one-on-one with our treatment team and a horse, P1130350so our clients must be physically able to sit independently on a horse. Next we need to determine if the child/teen/young adult can listen and follow simple directions. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThis is an area we can work on, but there needs to be some level of outward awareness/engagement for child/teen/young adult to be safe in our program. Since safety is our highest concern, we will never hesitate to refer you to a more appropriate program if we have concerns.
