How we respond to the trauma in our lives

An interesting new study is indicating that, for some, traumatic life events may trigger eating disorders. This makes sense to me. Traumatic events can leave us feeling helpless, out of control and powerless. We may turn to food to sooth ourselves or we may latch onto what we eat as something we do have control over.

The study goes on to point out that this is result is more likely when the person suffering the trauma does not have a good support system, people who care and are there to helps us through.
