Many Teens Are Struggling

Our world is full of challenges and stress! Teens today are often more aware and engaged in what is going on in the world. We may not be aware that they are watching us and noting when we are concerned about not only day-to-day issues, but bigger things as well. Add to that their own personal concerns about themselves, their peers, school, perhaps a job, and you have a potentially very stressful situation, that many teens are just not ready to deal with. This stress can lead to all kinds of anxiety that untreated can become a serious and potentially life-long problem.

This Huffington Post article gives some good advice on how to help a teen who may be struggling.

Several of the things suggested, such as ‘act’ and ‘distract’ can be accomplished through work with horses!  Work with horses builds confidence. It introduces new and challenging situations in non-judgemental and supportive environment. It encourages leadership skills. And besides, it’s fun!
