Hello! My name is Nyssa.
I am a calm 11-year-old mare with a unique blend of traits from my mix of breeds, a Haflinger and a Gypsy Vanner. I joined the NEAT herd through an owner lease agreement in 2023.
From my Haflinger side, I’ve inherited my breed’s renowned hardiness, a sturdy build, and a generally willing and kind temperament. Haflingers are known for being versatile, intelligent, and good-natured. I am often recognized by my beautiful chestnut coat and flaxen mane and tail!
My Gypsy Vanner heritage also contributes to my distinctive appearance and calm disposition. Gypsy Vanners were traditionally prized for their strength, gentle nature, and often stunning piebald or skewbald coloring and abundant feathering on my lower legs. Breeds like mine are known for being exceptionally calm, patient, and people-oriented.
I was previously used for driving carts, showcasing my strength and steady temperament that’s found in both of my breeds!
