Nevada Equine Therapy is looking for a new home!

For the past 3 years Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy has been located at the UNR Equestrian Center. However, we recently were informed by UNR that they will not be renewing our lease when it ends on May 31, 2016. They have said this is due to a renewal of their partnership with the Cooperative Extension program and they anticipate using the entire property. Consequently, we are looking at options that may be available for our new home. The following are our ideal requirements:

We prefer a long-term lease or lease/purchase agreement.P1050390

The ideal property will be 2+ acres and be centrally located (within 10 miles of downtown Reno). We have clients that come from Reno, Dayton, Spanish Springs, Truckee, Verdi as well as the Carson Valley.

Our horses are a top priority. We need a minimum of 10 sheltered stalls and ample turnout available.

At least one fenced riding arena (covered would be optimum), parking for at up to 8 vehicles (staff/clients during sessions), tackroom, dedicated grooming area for up to 6 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAhorses at one time, bathroom facility, hay/feed storage and a clubhouse/office space.
Current hours of operation are Tues/Wed from 2-5:30, Thur/Fri small group sessions 10 – 1 p.m. and 2-5:30 and Sat 10 – 3.

We don’t necessarily need exclusive use, but because we provide mental health interventions, we obviously need to be able to protect our client’s confidentiality (as required by HIPPA regs).

Obviously this is our preferred ‘wish list,’ and we are willing to consider and discuss other OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAoptions. We can even consider a ‘non-horse’ property that is otherwise a good fit if we have a long-term lease, as we can come in and create the horse infrastructure if necessary.
