Young children aren’t immune to negative body image messages

dollIt’s hard to believe, but new research is indicating that girls as young as 3 have already learned that being ‘fat’ is a bad thing.

In this article researchers note that given a choice, three year old girls will state that the ‘thin’ doll is prettier, though her face and clothing are the same as the larger size doll and will choose to play with the thin doll about 70% of the time.
