Folks, our mental health care system is failing in so many ways!
This article by David Rogers, Daily News Staff Writer, specifically looks at the failure to diagnose Bipolar Disorder and the cost of this failure.
There are lots of things that can help someone struggling with Bipolar disorder, from medication to getting a good night’s sleep and having a good therapeutic team in place.
We work as part of a comprehensive treatment team to address each client’s specific goals and objectives. Through our work with horses we might be focused in teaching relaxation and coping skills. We may work on improving self confidence. Perhaps the focus is to learn to spot when depression is coming on and coming up with strategies for turning this around. Horses offer us a myriad of opportunities for change, growth and learning.
Are you or someone you know is dealing with Bipolar disorder, we would be happy to meet with you. We will show you around, introduce you to our wonderful horses, learn more about what the challenges you are facing are, and share how we can be a part of the treatment team. Call or email us to schedule a visit.
