According to this article in the Los Angeles Times, “1 in 8 children will experiences some form of maltreatment serious enough to be confirmed by government authorities”. How heartbreaking is that?
The research was conducted by Yale University, USC, UC Berkeley, Columbia University and the University of Washington and the results have been published in the Journal of 
American Medical Association – Pediatrics.
This neglect and abuse can lead to serious physical and mental health problems and costs up to $124 billion per year in the United States alone.
WE NEED TO BE DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY! All of the research shows that if we do not break the cycle of violence it is passed from generation to generation.
