It is tough to know when a child is simply doing what kids do and when there are bigger issues at play. We watch and see that our child is ‘high energy’ and has a hard time sitting still. Maybe we are getting frequent reports from the school telling us that there is a problem. No parent wants to believe that their child has ‘disorder’ but sometimes having a diagnosis allows us to understand better what is going on and to make a sound plan for helping the child move forward.
