Children and stress

If you don’t have kids in your life these days, it may surprise you to hear that many children today are feeling pretty stressed out.

The demands made on kids today are very different than what was expected of us when we were school aged children. Having a ‘stay at home’ parent has become a real rarity so many children don’t even make it home till dinner time. They may feel rushed to get things done, bath time, dinner, homework and then off to bed…this can be incredibly stressful!

In our work with horses we will often help our clients develop self-soothing and relaxation skills. We work with our parents on strategies for making things flow more smoothly at home. We are happy to attend IEP meetings when appropriate to share our insights on a client and to learn more about how we can support the educational team.
