FREE Open House for people dealing with Autism

You are invited to join us for this exciting event where we will introduce the magic of horses to people dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The details from the press release follow…

August 27, 2010 – N.E.A.T. – Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy announces, that in partnership with Sierra Autism Care Center, they will be hosting an Open House for individuals impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related conditions.  This FREE event will take place on September 15th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Parents and care givers are encouraged to bring their children, teens and adults out to the N.E.A.T. ranch to experience the magic of horses!  For reasons that may forever remain unknown, the horse holds a special captivation and power that none of us ever out-grows.  Individuals will see a live demonstration with the horses, and learn more about how horses can make a difference in the lives of those impacted by ASD and related conditions.

N.E.A.T. and Sierra Autism Care Center have come together to provide this unique equine intervention to individuals in the Reno – Sparks community.  Opportunities will include both group sessions and individual sessions with horses.

Sierra Autism Care Center is a network of professionals that collaborate to provide a variety of quality, evidence based interventions such as center-based after school programs and social experiences for children, teens and adults impacted by ASD and related conditions.  They accept funding from a multitude of sources – maximizing the individual’s funding and services.  Clients receive more service hours across a more diverse treatment team than with other service provision models.
