My sweetheart likes to say, “you could be bent over in a rice paddy” as a way of reminding me, though I rarely need it, of just how fortunate I am. People dealing with an eating disorder do not see themselves with clear perspective. This visual distortion is caused by many factors, but the results can be catastrophic. I think this article is pretty insightful. Work with horses can help us see things more clearly. They are in the here and now, acutely aware of what is happening.
