And more tips! This time on dealing with tantrums from kids on the spectrum

Here are some tips for dealing with tantrums. It’s important that you remain calm and realize that it is not personal. I know this can be difficult, but your frustration and anger can only escalate the situation.

Through their work with horses children and teens develop better communication and coping skills, which can diminish the frequency and severity of tantrums. Call us to come out and visit the ranch, meet the horses and learn more about how our program works.

I hope this will work for you, My beautiful Asperger’s Daughter has had a lot of trouble with anger and tantrums not so much latley thank goodness, Since she is 10 now, the way I explained anger to her is that being upset is kind of like drinking poison it doesn’t really hurt anyone else but you, The thought of drinking posion really shocked her. So far so good! 😛

It was a pleasure working with both of your beautiful girls! It was wonderful to see them grow and change. “K” learned to love games and would be sure to tell you if you were not playing right! She was also very brave, even after taking a tumble, getting right back on her horse to ride. “A” learned that change was not a good reason for a meltdown. Both girls loved the horses from the very beginning. You all will always have a special place in our hearts…
