Really good article on recognizing Bipolar Disorder

We all have met people who experience life in the extremes – when they are ‘happy’ it seems that nothing can stop them, but when they are ‘sad’ they may not be able to get out of bed. Living this way can be overwhelming for everyone involved. Is this what Bipolar looks like? This article provides a good list of symptoms that may help you or someone you care about decide to seek help.

Equine Therapy can be a powerful part of treatment program. Though our program is client goal focused, when addressing Bipolar Disorder we may work on emotional regulation, appropriate personal boundaries, self-esteem and relationship skills. I remember one man I worked with who confessed that even when he could barely get out the door of his home because of his anxiety and depression, he would make the effort so that he could come and be with his horse, “I love the way they (horses) smell. For some reason that alone makes me feel better.”

We would be happy to show you around the ranch, introduce you to our wonderful horses and share more with you about how our program works. Call us to schedule a visit.
