In our work with those on the spectrum we have to be aware of each client’s specific triggers – bright lights, loud noises, just too much activity – all of these things have the potential to overwhelm a person on the spectrum. Though they rarely happen at the ranch, we need to have strategies in place for dealing with “melt downs”. Â And most importantly, we have to be prepared to “punt” – things just don’t always go as planned and you need to be flexible in order to make the most of every opportunity.
