A very interesting perspective on eating disorders

This New York Times article shares the opinion that an eating disorder may never be “cured”.  I found this to be a very honest and brave story. If you or someone you know is living with an eating disorder, seek help. Though the battle may rage, there is hope…

We are proud of the work we do with The Center For Hope, a comprehensive eating disorder program. Every week we meet a small group and through our work with horses we help to strengthen personal boundaries, build self-confidence and improve relationship skills.  During our last session we had a great “ah ha moment”. One of the clients was riding her horse at a canter around the arena. There was an upright pole up ahead and the client was sure that the horse would move around it. However, “Ruby” (our American Bashkir Curly) was busy paying attention to her buddy “Baxter” (a beautiful Thoroughbred) and only saw the pole at the very last moment, scaring herself as she jumped sideways to avoid running into it…In life, if we are too focus on others, or on what is coming up way ahead of us, we may miss something right in front of us (the client added, “and run into a pole!”).

We would love to show you around the ranch, introduce you to all our wonderful horses and share more with you about how our program works. Call us today to schedule a visit.
