The numbers are really troubling

New research is showing that 81% of 10 year old girls are worried about being fat.

There are several things that we need to address here. First, we need to be sure we model and promote healthy eating habits. Second, we need to be sure that we provide ample opportunities for physical exercise – we all know that now-a-days kids spend way to much time in front of the TV and computer. And finally, we need to make sure our children have healthy self images, no matter their size.

In our work with horses we can actually address all of these issues!  We talk about how every horses is built for a specific purpose  –  they may be short and stocky or tall and lean, but they all are ok, as long as we keep them healthy.

We provide an opportunity for physical exercise. I know people often think that the horse does all the work, but I assure you that riders get a workout too!

And most importantly, we help build self confidence and increase self esteem. Being a good leader and practicing firm and fair boundaries are important skills that horses help us to develop.

We would love to have you come out to visit the ranch, meet our wonderful horses and learn more about how our program can help. Call us to schedule a visit.
