Good advice for parents of kids w/ADHD

Actually a lot of the advice in this article is true for parents of all children! We need to be mindful about what we say and do in front of our children. It can be extremely stressful for them when we expose them to our adult cares and concerns. Remember, till they grow older, they often think the world revolves around them and feel that they are the cause of all that happens in their world. So your fears about losing your job, or your fight with your spouse can be devastating for them. They have enough to deal with without adding adult burdens to their load.

In our work with horses we can help children learn and practice coping skills and help them to identify and express their feelings in age appropriate ways. We can help them to feel empowered – it takes a lot to be in charge of a 1,000 lb horse! And we can give them a chance to feel proud of themselves for accomplishing something new and challenging.

We would love to show you around the ranch, introduce you to our wonderful horses and share more with you about how our program works. Call us today to schedule a visit.
