Thankfully, in this day and age, there is so much information available, that most people are at least aware of what Autism is. There is more understanding and less judgement by others. However, there is still a lot to learn and the more we know the better we can do.
For many, the article will mostly be a review, but there are still several important points made. Autism is a ‘spectrum’ disorder. In some cases the symptoms are limited to a few ‘tells’ such as social awkwardness and maybe over-anxiousness about a change in routine. In other cases there may be a total breakdown in communication and a lack of ability to engage in even simple day-to-day tasks.
More and more there are services and interventions available no matter where a child falls on the spectrum. Many people report amazing results for those participating in equine therapy. From improved speech and language, to better focus. From more personal engagement to strengthening motor skills, the reports are all good.
We work with kids as young as 4 (as long as we can keep them safe), teens and even adults on ‘the spectrum’. We would love to show you around our ranch, introduce you to our horses, learn more about your challenges and share how we might be able to help. Call or email today to schedule a visit!
