Work With Horses Can Help With Healing

We love seeing so many programs, all around the world, offering a path to healing through work with horses. From traditional ‘therapeutic riding’ programs, that focus on physical and cognitive challenges to traveling programs that help people by bringing miniature horses to people wherever they are (schools, nursing homes, etc.) our wonderful equine partners are working hard to help people heal.

This article in the Edmonton Sun talks about how Making Strides has expanded to help people recovering from addiction and dealing with trauma find healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. Bravo!

Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy offers a wide range of services, from social, emotional and behavioral growth and learning to Psycho Social Rehabilitation (PSR), a mental health intervention, to children, teens, adults and small groups.

Whatever the issues are, we focus on the client’s specific goals and tailor session to emphasis work in that area. Our clients are encouraged to build a relationship with the horse they work with. They learn to halter, lead, groom, tack-up and even ride, while still working on the issues that they have. From lack of focus and impulsivity, to anxiety, horses offer many opportunities for growth and change.

If you or someone you know is struggling, whether from social, emotional, behavioral or mental health issues, we may be able to help. Call (775-750-9823) or email; neatinfo@yahoo.com and we will schedule a time for you to visit the ranch. We will introduce the horses, learn more about what you are dealing with and share how we may be able to help.
