Kids learn what it feels like to have autism

Kid’s at Cumberland Trace elementary school participated in various sensory activities to experience a bit of what it is like to have autism. This is a pretty interesting story that offers some great ideas on how to expose kids to the challenges of living with autism.

The first challenge for those working with kids on the spectrum is to determine what kinds of issues they have. They vary, from visual, to auditory to tactile and all kinds of things in between. They may be over-stimulate (hyper) or under-stimulate (hypo). How you work with them changes according to their very personal challenges. It is often a trail and error process to fine tune your approach, but when you do connect, it is so rewarding!

We invite you to give us a call and schedule a visit to come out and see the ranch, meet our wonderful horses and learn more about how our program works.
