A very moving discussion about profound loss and childhood trauma

I’m sorry that I have not figured out how to give you the link right to this clip, but the website for Dr. Cheryl Erwin’s commentary on NPR will get you where you need to be to hear this really powerful piece. Once on the website, click on the link to “air date: 8/9/11” under past episodes.

To be honest, her opening story about a client’s loss had me in tears (this comes as no surprise to those who know me) and I just knew I had to share her words with you.

We all carry wounds from our childhood. Many of us have figured out how to get on with life, but for many more, the healing has never happened. Though we may share similar feelings, what each of us has experienced and how we deal with our loss, grief, pain and sometimes fear, is unique.

However, I will tell you this: horses are incredibly powerful in their ability to help us heal. We would love an opportunity to show you around our beautiful ranch,
introduce you to our incredible equine partners and the chance to share more with you about how our program works. Call us today to schedule a visit.
