I always love it when I discover that a saying such as “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” has a meaning that I didn’t even know about! This saying originated because you can tell the age of the horse by its teeth, so looking in the mouth means you are questioning the value of the gift.
But did you ever wonder where the term “Horse Sense” came from? Well here ya go!
There is now great research about what Horse Sense really is AND it directly relates to the work we do.
The fact is that horses can sense our emotional state. And as our partners we are tuned into them enough to observe and interpret what they sense from the person we are working with. This may be the child that says they are fine, but they are being bullied at school. Or the teen who claims they are not
afraid of anything but are quaking inside over upcoming finals. Or the adult who blusters about much they do but is really feeling overwhelmed and needs to take a break…Our equine partners have “Horse Sense” and this helps us to help our clients…Thank you to our equine partners! If you our someone you know is living with issues that make life challenging, we would love to have you come out to the ranch, meet our wonderful horses and learn more about how our program works.
