Body Image and Depression

Our society has created a very unhealthy, even deadly image of what we should look like.

This new study explores the connection between male self image and depression. Sadly, the findings indicate that boys and men suffer from our society’s unnatural stereotypes just as girls and woman do.

Through our work with horses we help our clients, no matter their age, size or any other physcial characteristic, find self confidence and empowerment. Our clients find love and acceptance whether they are a 6’4″ 353 lb 14 year old or a 5′ 98 lb 30 something. Horses just don’t care. Clients learn how to be firm, fair and consistant. They learn that this is the basis of building a trusting relationship. They learn that no matter their size they can set appropriate boundaries even with a 1000 lb horse.  These are lessons that they carry with them and are able to use in other areas of their lives.

If you or someone you know struggles with body issues, depression or other problems that are making life challenging, call or email us to schedule a visit. We will show your around, introduce you to the horses, learn more about what your are dealing with and share how we might be able to help.
