The Painful Secret

feeling sadReading article, which tells the story about Marli Brown, a woman who suffered from extreme mental health issues for over 20 years before seeking help breaks my heart. She worked very hard to hide her pain, suffering in silence as she lost all her hair, beat her head against walls and drank herself into a stupor, all the while maintaining a facade that all was well.

We need to open up about how prevalent mental health problems are. We need to get more comfortable with the fact that mental health problems are health problems and not the fault of the person suffering from them. Equine Assisted Therapy can be a very potent part of a comprehensive treatment plan. We work with children, teens and adults. Our sessions are one-on-one, with a client, a horse and a Certified Therapeutic Equine Instructor. We do not have a set curriculum.
