You know who they are. They are adults who have difficulty with organization, are easily distracted, are unable to sustain attention. They fidgeting, talk too much and interrupting conversations often. Is it stress? ADHD or possibly even PTSD?
New research shows that the number of adults taking ADHD drugs rose by more 50% between 2008 and 2012 AND only 11% of the adults with ADHD have been diagnosed or are receiving treatment.
Whether diagnosed or not, if you are dealing with issues such as difficulty getting organization, being easily distracted, unable to sustain attention, fidgeting, talk too much or interrupt conversations too often, work with horses may be able to help.
We will sit down and come up with specific goals with you that will be addressed in your work with horses. Increasing focus, decreasing impulsive behaviors, self-soothing and calming strategies may be part of your goals. You will work one on one with a Qualified Metal Health Associate and your horse on meeting those goals. You will learn about horses from the ground up, leading, grooming, playing ‘games’ with them and doing mounted work as well.
